Volunteer Opportunities

  • Various Volunteer Roles with Rogue Food Unites. Since October 2022, Rogue Foods Unites has been hosting and running a barrier-free, no-cost mobile farmers market program providing fresh, regional, organic produce, organic eggs and natural meats three times a week, in four different location sites consistent in Southern Oregon. Volunteers power this program. Our volunteers assist with greeting market goers, stocking produce and shopping with community members. We can’t do it without you! This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of something that feels so good and be of service to our collective community. Sign up to volunteer.

  • Board Treasurer with Klamath Grown. This is a two year commitment. Learn more here.

    • The specific responsibilities below will be in addition to the above:

      • Assist in building financial systems

      • Review of quarterly financial statements

      • Check signer for backup purchasing needs

      • Report to Board on major financial transactions

      • Develop and provide input on financial policies and procedures L

  • Volunteer at Zenger Farms:

    • Groups seeking team building and volunteering experiences can sign up to get involved through our sliding scale group volunteer packages. Volunteering at Zenger Farm is an engaging, hands-on way to connect your brand and employees to land and our food justice work. The day starts out with an hour tour of Zenger Farm followed by a two hour land stewardship project.

    • For individual volunteers, please join us for a volunteer orientation on the fourth Saturday of each month. We will be hosting our next a Volunteer Orientation Day on Saturday May 27th. Register on our website.

  • Zenger Farm Board Members. This is a volunteer role with a two-year term.

    Now seeking volunteers to join our Board of Directors! We are looking for candidates who are value-aligned with our mission and bring a strong racial justice background. Bonus if you are from or familiar with the neighborhood in which Zenger Farm is located. Zenger Farm is in outer SE Portland (Powellhurst-Gilbert, Lents, Foster-Powell neighborhoods). Applications open until board seats are filled, review begins February 17th. Learn more and apply to join our Board of Directors!

  • Volunteer at the Hillsdale Farmers Market on Saturdays. Any level of commitment is welcome. Markets take place on Sunday mornings. We compile our volunteer schedule using an online volunteer signup form. Each Tuesday, those on the volunteer email list receive an email with a link to the coming Sunday market. Volunteers select their shift. On the Saturday before the market, the volunteer coordinator sends out the compiled schedule. Can’t work the standard shift? We’re flexible!   • Northeast Oregon Economic Development District (NEOEDD) is looking for Board of Directors members.

    NEOEDD's board meets quarterly in locations that rotate around the district. We are looking for individuals who are interested in the economy of the region, those who have benefited from NEOEDD's services or training in the past, and those who are involved with local government or organizations.   • Growing Gardens currently has three open positions on their volunteer Development Committee! 

    Growing Gardens is a 501cs nonprofit using the experience of growing food in schools, backyards, and correctional facilities to cultivate healthy and equitable communities. 
    Our volunteer Development Committee meets once monthly on the second Tuesday of the month from 2pm-3pm to support our Development Director in ongoing fundraising and marketing efforts. This is a great opportunity to observe and participate in a variety of fundraising campaigns at each stage in the development process. 

    During these virtual meetings, you will get the latest updates on current events, cultivate incoming ideas, and wrap up with volunteer opportunities for the month ahead. 

    We welcome all skill levels and backgrounds, with a particular interest in truly motivated individuals who are enthusiastic about fundraising and food justice.
