Who can become an OCFSN member?
Public Interest Organization Members
May include the following:
Community-based or grassroots non-profit organizations with farm/food focused projects/programs.
Statewide or regional organizations with local farm/food focused service programs.
Statewide or regional organizations working to address farm/food system issues at a systems level.
Local and state governmental organizations involved in food system planning and development efforts.
Business Affiliates
For-profit enterprises support the food system, from the farm through all links in the value chain to the consumer. Collectively, for-profit enterprises can also have a determining influence on food systems outcomes related to the environment, the sustainability of rural communities or specific sectors of the economy, the safety, health and wellbeing of workers, and the health and quality of life of citizens.
Many for-profit enterprises share values with OCFSN members. Accordingly, OCFSN has an interest in engaging the business community to understand business priorities and challenges, identify shared interests, encourage steps that advance those interests, and recognize businesses that make a positive contribution to local and regional food systems development efforts.
Make your support for Oregon’s food system known!

Why become a member of OCFSN?
We get more traction when we support each other.
We’ve seen this happen in a number of ways. For example, we successfully launched the Double Up Food Bucks campaign (list impact better), the OCFSN Disaster Relief Fund was created and $1.5M set aside by the legislature to support small and BIPOC farmers otherwise left out. This was possible through cross-organizational collaboration.
How can I be an accountable Member?
First and foremost, show up!
We don’t have all the answers and we don’t expect you to either.
Our guiding principles include:
Demonstrate commitment to the OCFSN vision and active engagement with food system challenges.
Sign on to the vision statement and assign one or more staff members to one or more OCFSN teams.
Seek complementary resources to support the organization’s own involvement in OCFSN activities.
Participate in OCFSN trainings and provide data for collective impact evaluation.
Businesses must apply for affiliate membership and demonstrate commitment and service to community food systems goals.
